Tullaroan 2-17 | Conahy 1-6

No

The Conahy senior camogie girls made their senior championship debut away to Tullaroan in the opening round of the Michael Lyng Motors Senior championship on Sunday last. However, it proved to be a disappointing outcome as the home side were too strong and ran out deserving winners. Conahy's cause was not helped by the absence of a number of key players due to injury and also by the fact a number of players were playing a second game in two days, having played as part of the minor camogie team on Saturday. Having started reasonably well, Conahy were dealt a blow just before half-time when Tullaroan scored the opening goal of the game, ensuring that they led by 1-7 to 0-4 at the interval.

Tullaroan increased their lead throughout the early stages of the second half, but Conahy showed great heart and responded with a goal from Meadbh Walsh. Tullaroan continued to advance, however, and when they scored their second goal later on, the game was over as a contest. In the end, they were full value for their 2-17 to 1-6 victory. This defeat does not end Conahy's season, however, as they now look forward to competing in the postponed 2020 Leinster Intermediate club championship in a month's time. They will face Myshall (Carlow) in the opening round of the competition.
