The Conahy minor camogie girls created history on Sunday afternoon (22/1/2023) when producing a fantastic performance in defeating James Stephens in the Gaeltec Roinn A county final in Ballyragget. Conahy were full value for the victory, and deservedly led by 1-6 to 0-5 at the half-time break, thanks in particular to a goal from Amy Brennan. When James Stephens began the second half with a goal to close the deficit, Conahy had the perfect response when Ellen Gunner found the net from a penalty. A third goal from Ella Buggy and another Amy Brennan goal later in the second half soon had Conahy set up for victory. Some excellent performances throughout the field ensured that they held that advantage until the end, winning by 4-10 to 1-9. Team Captain Emma Mulhall was on hand to accept the trophy following the game. Congratulations to the entire panel of players on a memorable achievement, along with their coaching team of Eoin Murphy, Paul Byrne, Claire Gunner, Miriam Mulhall and Hilda Butler.
