The Conahy minor camogie girls were also in action last weekend, and desperately unlucky to lose to James Stephens by a single point in the Gaeltec Roinn A championship semi-final in Jenkinstown on Saturday last. There was little between both teams in the opening half with the city side leading by a single point at the halfway mark, winning by 0-5 to 0-4. But Conahy would have been hopeful going into the second half as the strengthening breeze was to be in their favour. It looks promising at the second half water break as Conahy led by 0-8 to 0-6. Conahy looked like they were set for victory when Molly O'Dornan scored the game's first goal. But James Stephens responded almost straightaway with their first goal, and they gained confidence from this in the final frantic minutes, holding on for a 1-11 to 1-10 victory. Hard luck to the Conahy girls, who tried their hearts out all through, and their management team of Eoin Murphy, Paul Byrne, Hilda Butler, Clare Gunner and Miriam Mulhall.
